Which Term Should You Choose?

First-time importers or small companies
Recommended
We handle all shipping complexities. You only need to manage customs clearance at your end. Simplest option for buyers new to international trade.
Experienced importers with shipping partners
Recommended
Gives you control over shipping costs and service level. Ideal if you have preferred freight forwarders or want to optimize shipping expenses.
Large companies with full logistics capability
Recommended
Maximum control over entire supply chain. Best pricing but requires expertise in Chinese export procedures and international shipping.

Common Misconceptions Clarified

Myth
"CIF means delivered to my warehouse ready to use"
Fact
CIF only covers delivery to your port. You still need to handle customs clearance, import duties, and transportation from port to your facility.
Myth
"Transit times include customs clearance time"
Fact
All transit times are port-to-port sea voyage only. Customs procedures, port congestion, and inland delivery add extra time that varies by destination.
Myth
"EXW is always the cheapest option"
Fact
While EXW has lowest quoted price, total costs including logistics, documentation, and potential delays may be higher than FOB or CIF for inexperienced importers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Shipping & Delivery FAQ

Clear answers to common questions about delivery times, shipping terms, and logistics for international telehandler buyers.

Do the delivery times include customs clearance and inland transport?
No. The delivery times shown only refer to sea transport or express shipping time. Destination port customs clearance, port handling fees, and inland transportation are handled by the buyer or their freight forwarder.
When does the delivery time start counting for EXW/FOB/CIF terms?
EXW: Sea transit starts from vessel departure time after factory delivery; factory to port transport is buyer/forwarder responsibility.

FOB: We handle export clearance and loading; sea transit still starts from vessel departure time.

CIF: We handle sea freight and marine insurance; delivery time refers to sea voyage only; post-arrival clearance and duties are buyer responsibility.
Can you guarantee arrival on a specific date?
Sea shipping has uncertainties, so we cannot guarantee "a specific day." We provide conservative and achievable time windows. After booking, we provide ETD/ETA with continuous updates. If port-skipping or delays occur, we'll suggest alternative routing options.
Why do delivery times vary significantly within the same region?
Factors include: direct sailing vs transshipment, peak season capacity, port congestion/inspections, weather conditions, and oversized cargo (Flat Rack/Open Top) having limited vessel schedules.
My country/port isn't listed - what should I do?
Please provide your destination port, and we'll give you the latest time range and recommended routing within 24 hours. Common departure ports: Shanghai/Ningbo/Qingdao/Tianjin; Shenzhen/Guangzhou.
Can I use my own freight forwarder?
Yes. We recommend EXW/FOB terms. Please provide forwarder contact and booking requirements. We'll coordinate with their container return/cut-off schedule for shipment.
Can multiple machines or different attachments be shipped together?
Yes. We can optimize container loading and stowage to reduce costs. If waiting for complete cargo, ETD may extend 2-3 days. We can also arrange split shipments based on urgency.
When is booking most secure to avoid delays?
After PI confirmation and deposit received, we can start booking. For peak season/oversized cargo, we recommend confirming 7-10 days in advance to avoid rolling bookings.
Does T/T payment only affect shipping timing?
We can only release documents/cargo after final payment received. To catch vessel schedule, please arrange prompt final payment after our loading notification to avoid delays in document release and cargo pickup.
For urgent spare parts, what's the fastest delivery?
For critical parts, we ship within ≤72 hours. Express options: Economy 5-7 days, Express 3-5 days (≤5kg small items). Express premium charges are buyer responsibility.
Will oversized/over-height equipment (OOG) take longer?
Possibly. Flat Rack/Open Top containers have fewer vessel options, requiring earlier booking and potentially 3-7 days additional transit buffer. We recommend securing space 7-10 days early.
What shipping documents do you provide for customs clearance?
Commercial Invoice, Packing List; large equipment includes wooden crate markings with dimensions/weight. Sea shipments include B/L Bill of Lading; CIF terms include insurance certificate; Certificate of Origin (CO) available on request when ordering.
Who pays destination port D/O fees, port charges, and duties?
Per international practice, buyer responsibility (regardless of EXW/FOB/CIF). We do not provide DDP door-to-door service.
Do ETD/ETA dates change? How do you notify updates?
Dates may change. After loading, we send B/L information within 24 hours and email status updates (departure, arrival changes, transshipment, etc.).
What should I watch for after port arrival?
Monitor the carrier's Free Time (free container/free storage period). Overdue charges for container detention/demurrage are buyer responsibility. We recommend arranging clearance and pickup promptly.
If sea delays affect project schedule, what can you do?
We'll coordinate faster routing/alternative ports when feasible, and suggest split shipments (main unit first, attachments follow). For spare parts issues, we can use express courier backup.
